Interview - The story behind Rêvésie, how was my jewelry brand born?
Every brand has a story, a unique path that led it to existence. Rêvésie isn't simply a jewelry brand; it's the reflection of a journey, a passion, and a deep desire to create with meaning.
What were the underlying reasons that drove you to create this brand? Your why.
To create a connection : Through my jewelry, I don't just share objects, but stories, emotions, and memories. Each piece I create is intended to accompany life's moments, big or small, and to become a unique symbol for my customers.
To promote local craftsmanship : In a world where everything moves quickly, I choose slowness and authenticity. Handcrafting each piece of jewelry here, in my Landes workshop, is my way of preserving expertise and showing that quality trumps quantity.
To leave a positive impact : Creating with respect for the environment is a priority. I design jewelry that reflects my values: eco-responsibility, sustainable production, and a love of natural materials.
To feel alive : Creation is more than a job, it's my essence. Manipulating materials, imagining new pieces, experimenting... All of this animates me and makes me want to get up every morning.
For my customers : Nothing makes me happier than seeing my creations worn, hearing their feedback, or receiving their little notes. They are my greatest source of motivation.
What personal path led you to this decision?
My career path didn't offer me a clear path. After my studies, I was faced with a lack of opportunities in my field, and taking on odd jobs without any real future prospects quickly made me feel increasingly frustrated. I needed a job that had meaning, that reflected who I was, that made me want to get up in the morning with passion.
Little by little, jewelry design became more than just a hobby. It was a no-brainer. The idea of building my own career, of no longer depending on uncertain opportunities but creating my own, pushed me to take the plunge. I chose to trust myself and explore this path, driven by the desire to pursue a profession where creativity and craftsmanship would play a central role.
What is your background and personal connection with jewelry?
Creation has always been a part of me. As a child, I was fascinated by art in all its forms, always drawing, tinkering, and imagining. My hands have always been my primary tool of expression. I also remember that jewelry has always held an essential place in my life: I wore dozens of them, like a second skin, an extension of my identity and my style.
Very early on, I tried my hand at making my own jewelry, even though, at the time, it was more of a DIY project than a true creation. At school, I was mainly known for my talent for drawing, and it was only natural that I followed this passion by taking all the possible artistic options in high school. Art wasn't just a subject for me, it was a given. It's also thanks to it that I got my baccalaureate.
I continued my studies in this direction with a BTS in fashion design, drawn to the world of film costumes and accessories. Without even being aware of it at the time, I was already creating jewelry through my projects, exploring what would later become my true vocation. But after my studies, the lack of opportunities and a series of small, dead-end jobs pushed me to reinvent myself.
Little by little, I turned to jewelry design, first out of passion, then with the deep desire to make it my profession. After months of reflection and experimentation, it became obvious. Since 2017, I have been self-taught, perfecting my know-how with patience and passion. Today, my creations are a reflection of my world, an extension of myself. Wearing them every day is a source of pride, a way to express my identity and share my art with those who recognize a part of themselves in it.
What key moment made you want to get started?
The day I opened a book on DIY, I didn't yet know that my life was about to take a decisive turn. Out of curiosity, I decided to try jewelry making, without much pretension. At first, it was mostly trial and error, rough tests, more tinkering than true know-how. But very quickly, something sparked inside me. I loved this process, this freedom of creating with my hands, of seeing an idea take shape under my fingers.
By dint of testing, learning, and refining my techniques, this activity became a true obsession. A lack set in as soon as I wasn't creating. Each new piece was a challenge, an exploration. I proudly wore my first creations, without giving them much thought, simply because they were a part of me.
At the time, I was working in a completely different field. Yet, every day, I came to work wearing my handmade jewelry, as if it were a given. One day, my department manager made a comment that resonated with me: "Why don't you just go for it? It's obvious this is the right career for you." At the time, I smiled, but the phrase continued to play on my mind.
I always knew I needed a creative, hands-on job—something that would allow me to fully express myself. This spark, combined with my growing desire to create, eventually led me to consider this passion as a real career. And so began my jewelry-making adventure.
Why did you choose to make it your profession rather than a passion?
Because, little by little, this passion took over. Creating was no longer just a hobby, it had become a necessity, a way to express myself, to give meaning to my daily life. Each piece of jewelry I made gave me immense satisfaction, and the idea of doing nothing else seemed obvious to me.
I realized that I no longer saw the hours pass when I was working on a piece, that inspiration came naturally, that each creation made me want to go even further. Unlike other professions where you sometimes feel heavy constraints, here, I saw above all freedom: the freedom to create at my own pace, to imagine without limits, to be in phase with my values.
I couldn't see myself doing anything else. The desire to try the adventure was stronger than the fear of failure. So I dared to turn this passion into a career, with the hope and determination to make it grow day after day.
My story with Rêvésie is, above all, a story of passion, freedom, and creativity. Each piece of jewelry I create reflects my journey, my inspirations, and my deep need to express emotions through materials. This journey, filled with doubts, discoveries, and inspirations, has led me to fully embrace this profession that excites me every day.
Creating jewelry isn't just about assembling materials; it's about telling stories, capturing a fragment of a dream and transforming it into something tangible. It's a way to create a unique bond with those who wear it, offering a touch of poetry and authenticity through each piece.
By daring to make my passion my profession, I chose to listen to that little inner voice that told me that this was my path. Today, Rêvésie is much more than a brand: it is a universe where art, emotions and know-how blend together, an invitation to wear a jewel like a talisman, a burst of poetry on the skin. ✨
